I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
